Aadhaar Card, is a Government Identification proof, that is made mandatory recently. Government has also declared to link Aadhaar card with all the other government identification proofs such as PAN Card, Driving license, etc. Including this, the Government has also planned to link Aadhaar card with other services like Free Cooking gas, Kerosene and Fertiliser subsidy, MGNREGA, etc. For this linking Government is asking each and every individual in India, to register for aadhaar card, get their card and link with all the other services mentioned by the Government. For this purpose, the Government has extended the timeline for registration of aadhaar card from September 30, 2017 to December 31, 2017.
This extension will be applicable for Employee’s Pension Scheme of 1995, scholarships, housing subsidy benefit, Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, etc. They have also clearly stated that, this extension is applicable only to those who have not applied for Aadhaar card or for individuals who have not yet received their aadhaar card. These individuals have to register for their aadhar card before December 31 and provide the Aadhaar number or the Enrolment ID, for further linking with other government identification proofs including Bank accounts, gas connection, etc.
