Procedure for Updating or Correcting your Email ID in Aadhaar Card Online in 2018 (Updated)

Aadhaar Card is one of the upcoming government identification proof, which can be used in almost all the locations, around India. Government has asked each and every Indian citizen to apply for aadhaar card, in their nearest enrolment centre. Since the government is keen in linking the aadhaar card with other government identification proofs, they are rushing through the procedure and is trying to complete the procedure within this year.

During registration time, each and every individual will be asked for Name, Age, Mobile number, Email ID etc. in order to link with their aadhaar card. At times, an individual will wish to change their Mobile number or Email ID provided during the registration of Aadhaar card. It is also possible to update our informations in the Aadhaar card through online or by visiting the nearest enrolment centre.

In this article, we are going to discuss about the procedure for updating or changing your Email ID, which you have provided during the time of registration. There are three ways for updating your details in aadhar card. They are as follows:

  • Visiting the nearest enrolment centre

Step by Step Procedure for Updating Email ID in your Aadhaar Card:

 Procedure 1: Through Online

 We can update through online easily within few steps, however, an individual must use the mobile number which has been registered with their aadhaar card.

Step 1: Click on the below link for visiting the official page for updating the information

Aadhaar-Address-Self-Update

Step 2: In this page, enter you 12 digit aadhaar number and the verification code.

Step 3: Click on the ‘Send OTP’ button.

Step 4: You will receive an OTP in the registered mobile number.

Step 5: After entering you will be taken to a page, where details like Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Address, Mobile Number, Email ID are displayed.

Step 6: Once you click on the checkbox that is given near the specific field, for example, if you select the checkbox near the Email ID, you will be allowed to update or change the Email ID.

Step 7: Click the Checkbox near Email ID, since you are trying to update your Email ID.

Step 8: You will be allowed to change your Email address and update the new one. Click on the Submit button once that is done.

Step 9: Your request for updating Email ID will be taken successfully and you will receive a service number to your registered mobile number.

Step 10: Your request will be processed in 7 working days.

Procedure 2: In person in Aadhaar Enrolment Centre

An individual can also walk into their nearest aadhaar enrolment centre and fill in the update form. In this form, we can enter the new Email ID and give it to the executive for updating the information in you aadhaar information. This will also take 7 working days to complete the procedure.

It is made easier by the government to update or change the details that we have given during the time of registration, since we are prone to change the mobile number and email id, in the future.

  • In this form, individual has to fill in all the demographic details like Name, Date of Birth, Age, Gender, Email ID, Mobile Number, Address, etc.
  • Once you fill in all the details, you have to provide valid documents to prove the details provided in the form.
  • You have to provide the form along with the supporting document, to the personnel in the Aadhaar enrolment centre.
  • Once the form has been submitted, you will be provided with a Unique Identification number (URN).
  • You can check the status of your update request online, by clicking the below link:https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/check-status
  • In this page, you can provide the Aadhaar number and URN number of the request and click on Submit after entering the verification code.
  • The status of the request will be displayed in the next page.
