Steps to Link Aadhaar Card with your Voter ID Card in 2019

Aadhaar card is an important government identification proof, which is now emerging in India. Government has requested each and every individual to apply for their Aadhaar card. Once they register for their aadhar card, they are bound to receive their aadhaar card within 2 weeks time. However, for some people it may take a bit longer. Once you receive your aadhar card, government has requested each and everyone to link their aadhaar card with their other government identification proofs and bank accounts.

In this article, we are going to discuss about the step by step procedure for linking their Voter identification card with their aadhar card. Even though, many people of aware of the procedure, they are not completely sure on how to proceed with the process. So let us see the linking procedure in detail.

Step by Step Procedure for linking Aadhaar card with Your Voter ID card:

 For Linking the Voter ID with your aadhar card, there are many ways like through official website, Registered mobile number and Calling their Call centre.

Procedure 1: Through Official Website 

Step 1: Visit the official website of the National Voter’s Service Portal

Step 2: In this page, enter the details asked for like Name, Age, Father’s Name, Gender, State, District, Constituency.

Step 3: Following this, enter the verification code, given below and Click the ‘Search’ button.

Step 4: If all the details match, then the details of your voter ID will be displayed.

Step 5: In this page, against your Voter ID, you will find an option, ‘Feed Aadhaar Number’. Click on this option.

Step 6: For this option to open, you have to enable the pop up option in your web browser.

Step 7: Once you click the option ‘Feed Aadhaar Number’, a pop up window will be opened. In this window, provide your 12 digit aadhaar number along with the details like Name in Aadhaar, Voter ID number, Mobile Number and Email ID.

Step 8: After entering the details, click on the ‘Submit’ button.

Step 9: Once you submit, a message will be displayed in the same pop up window.

Procedure 2: Through Registered Mobile Number

 Step 1: In order to link Aadhaar card with your voter ID, you have to send an SMS from your registered mobile number. The SMS should be in the below format.

ECILINK<Space>EPIC_NUMBER<Space>Aadhaar Number

Step 2: The above SMS should be sent to the number 166 or 51969 and the carrier charges may apply for sending this SMS.

Procedure 3: Through Call Centre 

Another procedure for linking Aadhaar card with your Voter ID is to make a call to the call centre. In this you will make a to the Customer care executive by dialling ‘1950’, from your registered mobile number. The executive will receive informations like Aadhaar Number, Voter ID number, Name etc. and he will update in the system on your behalf.

The timing for calling the centre is from 10 am to 5 pm.

There are also mobile app available currently only in Andhra Pradesh. Once it is available to everyone, you can download the app in your mobile phone and update your detail through registered mobile number. The linking procedure should be done as soon as possible, since the government is keen in implementing this within this year.
