PAN Card is a government identification proof, issued by the Income Tax Department, so that the individuals can pay their income tax returns each year. In addition to this, government can also keep track of the individual’s financial records. This PAN card consist of a 10-digit alphanumeric code for unique identification and each code has various significance. This PAN card is issued to each and every individual, who has a monthly income. In case if minors are willing to apply for the PAN card, so that it can be used as an identification proof, then it should be signed by his or her guardian and also they have to provide their identification proofs.
A PAN card has details like Name of the individual, Address of the individual and Father’s Name of the individual. This PAN card can be used as an identification proof and is considered one of the important government identification proof. Procedure for Changing the Address in the PAN Card:
Step 1: Initially you have to visit the official website of the Income Tax department and PAN card provider NSDL.
Step 2: In this page, you will find an option called ‘Application Type’, in that drop down, you will find ‘Changes or Correction in PAN card’. You will have to select that and in category you have to select ‘Individual’.
Step 3: You have to provide your personal information like Title, Surname, First Name, Middle Name, Date of Birth, Email ID, Mobile Number and PAN number
Step 4: Once you provide the detail, you have to enter the verification code and click on ‘Submit’ button.
Step 5: You will be redirected to a page, where you will have the details that needs to be changed or altered.
Step 6: You have to select the address and provide the new address. Once you provide the new address, click on ‘Submit’
Step 7: Your change request will be accepted and you will be provided with a Service Request number.
Step 8: You will receive your updated PAN card in your e-mail ID and through post, to the new address.
