Earlier, we need only Driving License to fly within the country. However, in the future, we need to produce Aadhaar Card or valid Passport, in order to board a Domestic flight. This rule will be implemented soon in all the domestic flights. After the unruly behaviour of the Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad, in the Air India domestic flight.

Domestic Flight Using Aadhaar Card or Passport

Ravindra Gaikwad, who behaved so rashly with a flight attendant by shouting abuse and throwing slippers at him, has been barred from flying in domestic flights. As a result of which, the government is acting on introducing a list of No-Fly passengers. Also, they have planned on introducing two new rules to board a flight. The Civil Aviation Ministry decided that they have to avoid blanket ban in the future for unruly passengers. Secondly, since Ravindra Gaikwad has claimed that some other person with the same name as his, has caused this trouble of cancelling his ticket instead of their ticket.

In order to avoid such situations in the future, the government wants a foolproof identification process. With the help of the Aadhaar card or Passport, the airline staff members will be able to distinguish between the genuine passengers and the troublemakers. Along with the list of unruly passengers, they have also decided to introduce a system, where unruly passengers will be punished according to their severity of offense.

Air India, has also lifted their ban on Mr Ravindra Gaikwad, after it received orders from the government. It has stated that they have accepted the letter of regrets from the politician, who has initially refused to apologize to either Air India or the 60-year old man whom he assaulted.
